Our Crew

Hi,
Can you believe we are at the end of 2015!!!
It has gone crazy fast, but what I do love about this time of year is that a lot of us get time off from our busy work schedule and get to spend time with those we love!
So my last share with you is inspired by this months mood board using the D-lish JAP kit, and scrapping family.

I love this crazy bonkers family of mine! They are full of support and love. They encourage me constantly and usually they are happy to help a scrapper mum out with plenty of photo taking. Lol!
This months JAP kit was just gorgeous, all my fave colours I couldn't wait to play.

That burlap flower was just screaming at me to be used, so I made sure it was on my page the whole time I shuffled and played. I used Dusty Attic feather stencil with gesso over the wet paint dribbles I had put on the background and they marbled together, I loved the look.

And those fantastic wood flowers are just amazing. I left them as they are as they did not need anything to make them stand out.

They great thing about the kit is that everything is provided to make a layout. I think the hardest thing is seeing if you can use all of it on one page or sharing it around with other possible layouts.
I usually want to use it all, lol!

I hope you have enjoyed my final share for this year, and look forward to seeing you all in 2016.
Scrap ya later,
Em. Xx

Shine bright

Happy Tuesday everyone,
Today I'm sharing a layout about the many 'faces' of me, lol!

I really don't like scrapping about myself but when flicking through all my photos recently I found all these different styles over this year. ( 1 is a wig, lol).
I love this paper and thought with all the goodies that D-lish has to offer it would show them off also.
I'm in love with those awesome glitter feathers, and how awesome are those coloured butterflies?
Totally awesome!!

I used a Dusty Attic stencil for a subtle effect in sections also, the most gorgeous camera flair and lots of D-lish flowers, including the versatile pip berry stem and crochet flowers. And then I Used a few enamel dots to tie it all together.

Paper like this lets you showcase multiple photos at a time, and embellish a lot or a little.
Why not have a go yourself?
I'll catch you all tomorrow with my final share for this year.

Remember

Hi!
Wow how the year has flown!!
It's my turn to share with you over the next few days, which will take us to the end of the year.
My first share today is a Layout that was inspired by last months tragic fire here in South Australia which was VERY close to home.

I wanted to capture the colour and feel that this scary act of nature had upon so many lives.
The images and videos that came out of this was a big wake up call to make sure we are always prepared for a disaster.
I used the black punchinella cut raggedly to have a smoke damaged feel, and the Dusty attic cross stencil used with crackle paint made for a fire spark effect.

I then used a chipboard tree and added embossing powder on sections to make it look like it had caught on fire.
I finished it off with a flair that marks the year and some simply placed enamel dots.

A very simple page that hopefully has a big impact.

I'll be back tomorrow to share something with a completely different feel.
Catch ya tomorrow.

Love life

Hi!
It's my turn this month over at D-lish to create a challenge for 'the scrap suite'.
So I decided to go with a bit of an upcycle theme??
This means you can use something non traditional on your page. It's amazing what you can use.

So some of the things I used are, an old phone cover, a Purfume box, packaging cardboard, and a box that use to hold a bottle of alcohol ;)
Here is what I did with it....

So with the scrapbooking packaging I trimmed it up to create my layers. I then cut the alcohol box up into a few strips and even reversed a couple of pieces and embossed them to add another point of interest.

The trickiest part was the phone cover as it's quite thick (even after pulling it all apart) so I added and just used foam tape under the photo so that this added extra dimension also to the page.

It's amazing how gorgeous some of the packets we get really are.
Why not have a go yourself, see what's lying around b4 you throw it away.
A choc wrapper/box or even a tea box?
You just never know where the inspo might come from.
Till we meet again, happy scrapping.

Shine - D-lish design share

Happy Monday everyone,
I'm here to share my last layout for this month.
This page is created and inspired with this months JAP kit. It is a completely black and white kit which allows you to interpret which ever way you wish, which is just awesome.
I decided to keep the colours very simple and let the kit speak for itself........

I also filtered my photo to match the colour tones. We had just had a farewell for some friends and the theme was 1920s, perfect for how I wanted to use this kit. So to add to the glam I added some silver embossing powder to the 'shine' title and a couple of the chipboard diamonds.

I also added micro beads to the large diamond and onto the main white flower, just to bling it up.
The kit has so much choice in it and it makes for fun scrapping.

Tomorrow is a new month so why not check out the new JAP kit and be inspired by it.
You never know what you might create with it.
Hope you have enjoyed my shares this month, and will catch you in December.
Till then , scrap you later,
Em. Xx

Sweet Nutella

Phew!!
Just made the time limit with this months Scrap the Boys challenge.
Here is the challenge......

So you had to scrap your boys with food!! So I just had to scrap this one of my boys....

I just love the looks on their faces and the joy that Nutella brings (myself included)
I thought I would keep it very simple so I could make it quick.
I used up a few goodies that have been sitting around for a little while. And drizzled paint around so it looked like melted choc.

And then dotted along the arrows inspired by the sprinkles on the challenge pic.
I had lots of fun with this and it was completed within an hour!! Love layouts that happen like that.

I can't wait to see what next months challenge is.
Thanks for checking this page out.
Catch ya soon, Em. Xx

JBoys - D-lish design team

Hi
Hope you are having an awesome Sunday!
Today I share with you my second Layout, and it's totally boyish.
I love this photo of my son with all his mates. They had the best day together,
and this photo captures that.

I used no paper with this page (except the background of course) and only a little mixed media. I used an impasto paste which dries clear so I could stamp over it, and ink it in places.

And i used plenty of D-lish goodies to make my page awesome.

I used 2 gorgeous flairs and some left over wood stars and 2 different washi tapes to add layers.

I love the punchanella and cut it up roughly to add it all over the place and create interest. I also used a quote pebble and some wood quote bubbles.

Finished it all off with a tab of Awesome.
I love how grungy and pre-teen this feels.
Maybe you could try and create a layout without paper? Would love to see what you come up with.
I'll catch ya tomorrow with my final share.
Till then, Em. Xx

U wear flowers in your hair - D-lish design team

Well hello there,
I'm back today with my first share for this month.
And I couldn't help myself but share the layout I created with the JAP kit from last month!
I loved it all, then the brakes hit.......
I have 2 amazing boys and this kit was a little on the pretty side, hmmmm what to do.
So I pinched a photo from my cousin of one of her gorgeous girls and created this.......

And it worked perfectly! I loved having fun with all the pretty things. I'm not scared to use pretty on my boy pages but this one just asked me to scrap a girl, lol!

The kit makes pages just come together so easily, but I added a few extra things to it, like, the coloured arrow, an extra washi which I made into feathers with the washi from the kit.
I cut up the straw to make for a different element on the page with additional cluster.

And I decided to leave the pinwheel veneer as was, just added a little glitter to it and pierced a hole through it for the brad. These pinwheels are still available in the shop along with some other extra kit bits.

I hope you enjoyed my first share for this month.
I'll see you all tomorrow with another to hopefully inspire.
Scrap ya later, Em. Xx

Amusing

HI
Have you had the chance to checkout this months challenge over at Charms Creations?

It is Awesome!
And right up my ally, as those that know me know i have a collection of moustaches!! lol!!
Here is what i created.......

We had just had a farewell party and the theme was 1920's, and my youngest asked for a moustache to add to his costume.
Hey hey, i now had the perfect photo for the layout.

I was a little worried the photo might get lost with the papers, so charms chevron arrow and large heart worked great in drawing the eye to the photo.

I thought it had a bit more of a Carnie feel then a 1920s so went with that by adding the balloons.

There is still time to have a play with this great challenge.
So why not get out your 'stash' to play with this 'stache' challenge.
Till next time,
Em. xx

Wrong, in all the right ways

Hi!
Have you seen the latest challenge over at Kraft+ this month??
It certainly has pushed me this month. Check it out....

So it's not really about the design of this layout but more about the artist that is PINK!
Right, so that got the brain thinking.  Here is what I decided to create....

Inspired by her song 'raise your glass' from the album - Greatest Hits, So Far.
We sing this song heaps, as we are all a bit of an odd bunch!! Lol!!
And I love to make fun of myself, especially when a camera is pointed at me! So I thought this photo tied in nicely with these lyrics in this song.

It actually was quite fun to create this page without any additional paper, I only used embellishments and modelling paste mixed with micro beads.
Thank you to the Kraft+ girls for really pushing our creative skills and the amazing inspiration.
If you have a chance why not see what song of Pink's inspires you, there is plenty of month left.
Thanks for checking out my layout.
Till next time, Em. Xx

3rd D-lish project for October

Happy Friday to you all,

Today I share my last LO with you for this month.
And I feel I saved the best one till last.
I say this because I just love the background!!
For this months cyber crop I have got you all to try the technique of using shaving cream with food colouring. I, like many of you, have tried it with inks, and the outcome is just gorgeous!

I used just 2 water based inks and put it onto a patterned paper that I wanted to use up.
I used the kaisercraft water based mists and they have just the most amazing shimmer in them.
But more importantly I used some awesome new goodies that has been restocked in the D-lish store.
The Dusty Attic chipboard is just fantastic to play with, you can leave it bare, ink it or paint it. I chose to paint the arrows

They look amazing hey? But I decided to leave some of the page pebbleswood veneer and chipboard raw to stand out against all the colour. I love the simple cluster on this Layout with the gorgeous silver flair as a stand out.

I finished it all off with some washi tape and a couple of journal it's. This is a real fave page of mine at the mo.
I hope you find a little time and collect some inspo this month to have a go at this quick and easy and very effective technique.
You won't be disappointed!!
Check out what all the other Design girls are up to also, a real showcase of talent they are.
Till next month, Em. Xx

Real Life

Happy Friday everyone,

So today I'm sharing a photo of me!
This year im trying to scrap more of me, often we forget about ourselves and yet we are the story tellers.

The JAP kit last month was perfect for me with this photo as I love all things feathered and winged. I also wanted to use a touch of gold as it's not usually my go to colour. But I thought hey let's get fancy!

D-lish goodies used here are a  JAP kit, clear cabachons, doilie, washi tape, and great journal tops, wooden peg and bitty bag. The JAP kits are always amazing as it gives you instant inspo.
A new month is very close now so keep an eye out for next months kit release.

I loved the chipboard birds so I embossed them to just add an extra bit of gold and colour. A friend showed me how to make these awesome washi feathers so I had to have a play and incorporate them into this LO.

Hope you are inspired to turn the camera around and scrap you!
Catch ya tomorrow.
Em. Xx

Bliss

Morning Deer and Fawners!

I have been having some fun this week playing with stencils and mists!! And I really wanted them to stand out in my page.

I just love the 2 stencils I used here on this LO, they are Flutterbys and Crafters workshop!! I took this photo before I scrapped on it.

Pretty cool hey?

I used a modeling paste and then about 4 different mists.
I was also inspired by Amanda's page last week, where she used no colour. This was just a great concept.... except....I struggle to use no colour, lol!! So I really wanted to try to stick to 'less' colour, and came up with this.

This paper range 'barista' by BasicGrey just lends itself to speak without much colour.
And I love to tell a story with multiple photos. And I dug around my stash to use up a few 'older' but still totally awesome embellies!
Why not give these ideas a try yourself. I think you will love the outcome!

Till next week, Em. Xx
